Swiss system, 9 rounds, FIDE rules, ELO rated.
Time limit
90 minutes per game per player + 30 seconds per move starting from the move 1.

Early registrations (by specifying your Name, ELO, Date of Birth, Country and accommodation if necessary) for the tournaments A – D and Y should be sent before the 1st of August either by e-mail: chess@rtu.lv or by filling the application form in the section “Registration”.
The onsite registration according to the schedule of the corresponding tournament is mandatory also for online pre-registered participants, including participants that have free entry. The organizers reserve the right to exclude players that have missed the onsite registration deadline from the tournament.

- FMs, WFMs, juniors up to 18 years of age (born 2004 and later), seniors over 65 years of age (born 1957 and earlier) have a 25% discount.
- Players representing the Latvian Chess Federation have a 35% discount.
- FMs, WFMs, juniors up to 18 years of age and seniors over 65 years who represent the Latvian Chess Federation have a 50% discount. Discounts do not add up. This discount does not refer to the additional charge for the late registration.
Late registrations
Players whose application to tournaments A-D and Y will be registered after the 1st of August 2022 will pay additional charge of 10 EUR.
Late arrival
Waiting time in the Tournaments A – D and Y in case of late arrival is 30 minutes.
Tie-breaks
The following tie-break criteria are used: 1) Mini Bucholz (without worst result), 2) Bucholc and 3) Rating Performance.
Prize giving
All players must be present at the closing ceremony to receive financial prizes. The organizers reserve the right not to pay out prizes if the participant fails to do so.
Financial prizes
The prize fund of the tournament A is 17 100 EUR (guaranteed in case of at least 200 participants), the first prize is guaranteed to be 2 500 EUR. 25 general prizes and special prizes for the best women, junior (born 2004 and later) and senior players (born 1962 and earlier) as well as rating prizes in at least 4 groups. General prizes are shared using the Hort system, special prizes are not shared. A player can receive only one prize.
